Sunday
September 2nd 2007 saw a great day for the Stretton Red Rovers club
as all three teams in the competition performed well with all
reaching a semi-final or higher.Starting with the Under 9/10 team
(consisting of 2 U10s, 5 U9s and 1 U8) in the Under 10s competition.
managed by Joe Leask/Alan Crump the boys took the Plate Winners
title - proudly displayed on the right.
The success continued with a stunning performance in the U12s
competition from another mixed-age team, managed by Brian
Joseph/Martin Watts, (consisting of 3 U12s and 6 U11s) who had only
come together on the day as a one-off for this tournament! They made
it to the semi-finals where they were knocked out by the eventual
winners. Sadly missing two key players including the regular
goalkeeper, and let down by two signed-up U12s members
- (you know who you are) things could have been even better.

Managed by Mike Gilford and playing in green, whilst the red kit
is being printed, the U13s continued their successful summer run by
reaching the final of the competition. Losing 1-0 to Onny Eagles,
despite dominating the match and being denied a very clear penalty,
the guys came away with the runner-up medals.
Having conceded only 2 goals during the whole competition and
scoring over 20 - the boys did us very proud!
